Dr. Alexandria
Miller is Associate Professor in the Human and Family Sciences Area of
the Health Professions Department and Director of the Didactic Program
in Dietetics at
Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Dr. Miller is a registered/licensed dietitian with more than
25 years experience in the field. She has been a consultant
dietitian
to long term care facilities, schools, and hospitals in eastern
Oklahoma
and has worked in several other healthcare facilities. Prior to
coming
to Northeastern State University, Dr. Miller was the Director of the
Dietetic Technician Program at Oklahoma State University-Okmulgee where
she served for eight years.
Dr. Miller's undergraduate degree is in foods, nutrition and
institution administration. Her master's degree is in nutrition,
and her doctorate in human environmental sciences has an emphasis in
food service management and adult education.
Dr. Miller is a member of The American Dietetic Association
and several dietetic practice groups including Dietetic Educators of
Practitioners, Food and Culinary Professionals, and Consultant
Dietitians in Health Care Facilities. She is a member of the
Oklahoma Dietetic Association and has served on the Board of Directors
for several years.
Dr. Miller is married to Dr. John Miller, a
veterinarian.They have
two daughters, Connie and Amy, and one son, Mark. They have four
granddaughters, Reagan, Kaylie, and Amanda, and Chesney. They
also
have a grandson, Jackson.
