The primary mission of the NSU Broken Arrow Library is to
fulfill the research needs of the students, faculty, and staff of Northeastern
State University and affiliated Oklahoma educational institutions. The secondary
mission of the NSU Broken Arrow Library is to provide research support for
members of the local community. As such, the NSU Broken Arrow library facility
is open and accessible to not only members of the NSU Community, but also
members of the local community who are undertaking serious research. Minors
(under age 18) who wish to use the library must be accompanied and directly
supervised by a responsible adult unless prior arrangements have been made. All
library patrons using the library agree to the following
rules and restrictions.
Failure to follow library rules and restrictions
may result in immediate suspension of library access privileges.
Borrowing Privileges
Circulating items may be checked out by NSU students, faculty, and staff who present a valid NSU or other photo ID. Students, faculty and staff at other Oklahoma Universities which participate in the OK Share lending program may borrow up to 5 circulating items upon presentation of a current OK Share Card from their home institution. In special circumstances where similar library materials are not available through a local public library, nonaffiliated patrons who reside in the Broken Arrow/ Tulsa area may apply for a Special Borrower card which will allow for limited circulation privileges.

Book Returns
Book returns are located at the Circulation desk within the NSU Broken Arrow library. An outside book drop is located on the south wall outside the library (close to the courtesy phone) for returning library materials after normal library hours. Please return all Reserve materials directly to the circulation desk to make sure that items are checked in off your account in a timely fashion to avoid late fees.
Fines and other charges
Fines are assessed on all overdue materials. Reserve
items will be assessed a fine of .25 cents per hour for every hour that an item
is overdue. Patrons who fail to return materials after the initial fine period,
will be charged for full replacement costs of the materials, along with
processing charges, billing charges, and the original fine. Combined, these
charges can be substantial, so please be sure to return library materials when
they are due. Patrons who abuse borrowing privileges may have their borrowing
privileges restricted or revoked entirely until their account is cleared. All
patron library charges are filed with the Bursar's office, and may result in a
"hold" being placed on their account until cleared.
