The Honors Program Student Committees

Each Honors student must be a part of one of these four committees.  A description of each committee is listed below.

Visual Communications Committee

The Visual Communications committee’s goal is to make the Honors scrapbook and publish the Honors newsletter.  They gather pictures from our social events and fundraisers to put in a scrapbook  for the Honors Program to remember the fun we’ve had and document the accomplishments we’ve made.  The Honors newsletter is organized and printed by this committee and distributed to all the Honors Program students and Alumni.

Social Committee

The goal of the Social committee is to schedule and plan Honors events like the annual freshman retreat and other social events designed to get Honors students together and get to know one another, the Honors upperclassmen, and the faculty and staff of NSU.

Grant/Research Committee

The goal of the Grant/Research committee is to research grants and scholarships to provide Northeastern’s Honors students higher scholarships and more opportunities to gain scholarship money.  They also research the honors programs of different universities in order to improve our own program here at NSU.  They have recently started researching study abroad programs for future Honors students.

Public Relations and Fundraising Committee

The goal of the PR/Fundraising committee is to raise funds for the Honors Program for events such as the annual Honors Retreat held for the incoming Honors freshman.  The public relations aspect of this committee works to spread information about NSU’s Honors Program to prospective students and to the students and faculty on campus.  They also advertise our fundraising efforts.  In addition,  this committee has taken on the task of updating and maintaining the Honors Program website.
