MINUTES of the Faculty Council Meeting, Friday, February 23, 2001, 2:00 pm
Members in Attendance: C Owen K Paris, J Yeutter, J Milbauer, M Rogers, D Linebarger, J Winterbottom, J Faulds, J Wilson,
This was a special meeting called to allow Vice President Pate to discuss with the council
guidelines for tenure and promotion.
In this meeting, he emphasized that it was important for each department and college, using the
principles from their own learned society, to develop a framework for what is scholarship in their
discipline.
In addition, at the meeting, the council passed a bylaw allowing the substitution of delegates with
24 hour notice.
