MINUTES of the Faculty Council Meeting, APRIL 16, 1999

Gary Wickham, Celia Meadows, Chuck Ziehr and Cari Brown.
Account totals: Operating Expense Account - $3,168.00
Travel Expense Account - $ 519.08
NOTE: The following amounts have been earmarked for use:
$2,500.00 - Student Memorial Fund
$1,000.00 - Faculty Circle of Excellence Awards & Reception
$ 125.00 - Faculty Development Workshop
The committee will meet April 22nd and 23rd to
make a decision. The reception will be held April 29th from
3:30 - 5:00 at the Jazz Lab. The winners will be announced on April 26th.
B. ADMINISTRATORS' EVALUATION REPORT
The evaluation instruments are ready. They are currently being packaged
and will be distributed to faculty.
C. STUDENT MEMORIAL
Ziehr reported a lot of interest and involvement in the project. Progress
is being made at a steady pace.
D. GRIEVANCE COMMITTEE
As of this meeting, the Library and Optometry have not submitted the
names of representatives and alternates to this committee.

Ziehr, Faires and Milbauer discussed the issue with the President. Milbauer
reported that he appeared neutral on the issue. The President is to talk
to the VP about putting together a committee to explore the issue.
G. SUMMER TERM TASK FORCE
The task force is meeting weekly to discuss issues affecting summer
school. They have good attendance and participation. The committee is formulating
a recommendation and want to have a report by the end of the semester.
