IMPORTANT *PPST* INFORMATION

On Friday, May 24, 2002, the Oklahoma Board of Regents voted to accept the Oklahoma General Education Test (OGET) as an additional option to fulfill Admission to Teacher Education requirements.

What does this mean to you?

If you are subject to the Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST) as a requirement for Admission to the Teacher Education Program at Northeastern State University, you may choose instead to take and pass the Oklahoma General Education Test (OGET).

What is the Oklahoma General Education Test?

The OGET is one of the three certification tests you will need to take and pass in order to be certified to teach in the state of Oklahoma.

Should I take the PPST or the OGET?

The PPST is taken only to fulfill a specific requirement to be admitted to the Teacher Education Program at NSU. Whereas, the OGET can fulfill this requirement and fulfill a certification requirement at the same time.

How do I register for the OGET?

You may pick up a testing bulletin in EDUC 202 at the Tahlequah campus, the NSU Muskogee Library or Student Services on the NSU Broken Arrow Campus room 130. Study guides are on reserve in all NSU campus libraries.
