Hashimoto's disease
  • Diffuse infiltration of the thyroid gland with lymphocytes, resulting in diffuse goiter, progressive destruction of the parenchyma and hypothyroidism. Syn: Hashimoto disease, Hashimoto struma, struma lymphomatosa, autoimmune thyroiditis, chronic lymphadenoid thyroiditis, chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, lymphocytic thyroiditis.
