Final Portfolio for Oral Interpretation
During the 14th week of class your portfolio will
be due. It should include:
1. A cover page (at a minimum please include your name, the name of the course, and the semester);
2. Table of contents;
3. The course syllabus;
4. Assignment sheets;
5. All selections prepared for class (fiction prose, non-fiction prose, dramatic duo, poetry, and POI). Please include the teasers (if applicable) and introductions with the pieces;
6. A short paragraph of information about the author of each selection performed in class. (Use multiple sources and give credit to the sources you use for biographical information about the author);
7. Description of your reactions both to your reading and to the critique following your reading. Be very thorough. This should include your reaction to seeing yourself on video in the Communication Lab;
8. Description of what you would do differently were you to perform this reading again;
9. All critique sheets (from Amy, the communication lab, and fellow students);
10. A list of readings and authors that you particularly enjoyed which were performed by other class members or other readers (with an explanation about why you liked them); and
11. Typed answers to all chapter questions. Be sure to include the questions.
Put this together neatly in a three-ringed binder. Each section should have its own tab and all work should be in plastic sleeves.
This assignment is worth 200 points.
