Fiction Prose Assignment

Select from a novel or short story a 3-to 5-minute reading to share with the class. The piece should have a teaser and an introduction. The performer must use his/her performance binder and must keep his/her feet planted during the presentation.

The focus this week is on the three functions of OI (i.e., textual analysis, communicative intent, and performance skills). Additionally, keep your audience in mind when you are selecting your material. What will they enjoy?
